Daily Journal Names Matthew McNicholas to 2024 Top Labor & Employment Lawyers List
Partner Matthew McNicholas was featured among Daily Journal’s 2024 Top Labor & Employment Lawyers List for his expertise in employment law. His notable representation of first responders resulted in over $17 million in employment case resolutions in 2023.
The Daily Journal discusses McNicholas’ representation of over 800 current or former LAPD undercover officers. They have filed claims alleging that their lives and careers were endangered due to city officials accidentally leaking their identities. This leak included their names, service photos, email addresses, phone numbers, serial numbers, ethnicities, genders and ranks.
The feature also acknowledges the $11.56 million verdict obtained in the retaliation lawsuit against the City of Los Angeles and LAPD on behalf of K9 Trainer, Mark Sauvao. Mark, a former bomb-detecting K9 trainer with the LAPD, was discriminated against and faced retaliation after reporting discrimination issues at his duty station.
