Responsibilities
- Must be able to take direction and assist in all phases of discovery and trial preparations.
- The ability to analyze case law and public law and apply it to current matters
- Litigate cases in court before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)

McNicholas & McNicholas, LLP is a Los Angeles-based plaintiff trial law firm seeking a full-time, self-motivated Accountant/CPA to join our Financial Department. This position plays an important role in our firm’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting, auditing and compliance with the law.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting and bookkeeping transactions
- Prepare budget forecasts
- Publish financial statements
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
- Performs all client billing functions and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure timely bank payments
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
- Report on the firm’s financial health and liquidity
- Audit financial transactions and documents
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary

Requirements and Qualifications

Responsibilities
- Prepare pleadings, correspondence, forms, and other legal documents
- File court documents and handle correspondence, memorandum, pleadings, law and motion, and related documents.
- Prepare and Serve discovery and subpoenas
- Request records (medical, employment, etc.) via various record services and maintenance of subpoenaed records log
- Accurately calendar deadlines and reminders for deadlines and keep attorneys aware of scheduled and approaching events
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail for the supported attorneys
- Schedule hearings, meetings, depositions, conference calls, assist with travel arrangements when necessary
- Assist fellow co-workers and/or other timekeepers as needed and requested
Education and Experience
- 3 to 5 years’ experience working in a law firm
- Knowledge and experience of MS Office software applications
